Savor San Diego sent us over to spend a day with the guys behind MIHO Gastrotruck and what a great day it was! Not only was the food amazing but Juan and Kevin were some of the coolest people we’ve had the pleasure of filming. We followed them through it all: food prep, driving, setting up, grilling, etc. You could almost call it a day in the life of a MIHO Gastrotruck. Almost…

If you haven’t tried their food yet, you need to right now. Go to their website and find out when they’ll be near you next!

Becky and Jess came to us wanting a “promo” that was creative, yet different. Something that would set them apart from the scores of other photographers out there. Something that would really compliment the newly re-branded image of Limelife Photography. Ultimately, we decided to move away from the typical promo (i.e. talking about their business, filming them doing a photo session, etc). We wanted to get them out from behind their cameras and tell the story of who they are personally.

When a client first approaches them, there’s a good chance they’ve already seen Limelife’s work online. They already know the quality and style of the final product. However, they don’t really know Becky and Jess. How do they know if they’ll have good chemistry with the photographers, chemistry which is absolutely essential to a fun and creative photo session. That’s where this piece comes in. It gives those potential clients a rare glimpse into the lives and personalities of the photographers they’d be hiring.

So, if you haven’t already, hit play and let us introduce you to Becky and Jess of Limelife Photography.

In 2011, our team traveled to Ecuador on behalf of Church Ministries International (CMI) to produce several short films for their organization. This particular film represents the longest documentary-style version and explores the past, present and future of CMI’s vision in Latin America. The intended purpose is to raise awareness of their ministry, help recruit volunteers, and really facilitate fundraising. The trip was amazing and it’s always a great feeling to support an organization we truly believe in.

In case you missed it awhile back, we blogged a fun, short film about our team’s little vacation to the jungle at the tail end of the trip. You can find it here.

Find out more about CMI at their website: www.churchministries.org.

When we got a call from Rich Villodas, teaching pastor at New Life Fellowship Church, about putting together a promotional piece for the church, we were thrilled! The church is located in Queens, New York, and boasts one of the most ethnically diverse congregations in the United States. The video would not only need to cover the main programs and services they offer at the church, but also the spirit of the community in which they serve. They wanted to capture all the different cultures and international flavor that New Life Fellowship and Queens in general have to offer. We spent about a week shooting in New York (and loved every second of it). The end result was a video we think really captures the heart, soul and vision of the church and hopefully inspires their local community to visit and get involved.

Phil Hotsenpiller is a good friend of ours. He had just founded {la}godMusic and wanted an EPK (electronic press kit) made to send out as promos and info on the band and their new album. He requested that we use 3-4 songs in the piece and cut between interviews and music video style shots. The location we used was called Swinghouse located in West Hollywood. That spot really made this thing work, we’re super happy with the outcome. If you get a chance, head on over to lagodmusic.com and check out all the rest of the music this talented band has to offer.

The Downtown San Diego Partnership is responsible for a lot of the redevelopment, cleanliness and safety of our downtown. They have a yearly awards show called the Alonzo Awards that honors the most influential people and companies downtown. They came to us wanting to add visual appeal to the show, and asked for three sets of videos. The video above was to be used to start the show off, and get everyone fired up about what’s happening in downtown San Diego.

We’ve been working with San Diego Magazine for a little while now and recently had one of the films we did for them recognized by the San Diego Press Club. In second and third place were pieces from ABC and PBS. Next year, we’re aiming to take home some awards for SavorSD.com!

We’re thrilled to announce that our new online food magazine, Savor San Diego, is now live! In partnership with our good friend, Vy Baker, we started planning about 6 months ago for a new kind of food magazine. We wanted a place where San Diegans could go to find fresh, unique content about all things food related in San Diego. Granted, we’re not the first on the scene. Not by a long shot. However, we noticed that existing sites and publications lacked the resources to produce good media. Everyone has great articles. No one has good videos. Needless to say, we were (and are) excited to flex our creative, editorial muscles in producing short films for the magazine. So, we gathered together a top-notch team of writers, photographers and filmmakers to collaborate on this new food vision. If you haven’t already, go check out the new site (SavorSD.com) and watch our first film about Brian Malarkey and his new restaurant, Burlap. You can also watch it above
